Uses: Used as a
disinfectant, sterilant, and in the tanning of leather. It also finds
applications in water treatment and chemical synthesis.
Process: Produced by the oxidation of cyclopentene with hydrogen
peroxide or by the hydroformylation of allyl alcohol.
